Why You Need Friends

“Friends; how many of us have them?— the ones we can depend on” we’re the lyrics to a popular song back in the day. While it was just a song, many of the messages in it were very true. I mean think about it. As you grow, you find out that not everyone you thought was your friend IS actually your friend.

Because of this very thing, many people have begun to look at life as if they don’t need any friends. While statistically, you don’t need many friends in life but you in fact do need true friends. Friends are suppose to be an asset to you in many ways.

A friend sticks close to you in times of need or moments of sorrow. A friend picks you up when you don’t have the strength to pick yourself up. A friend encourages you when you’re feeling not so well. A real friend holds much value.

For instance:

  • Real Friends Encourage Healthy Behaviors.

Let’s be clear. Anyone who encourages negative behavior isn’t your friend. Real friends want you in great health mentally, physically, and emotionally. They encourage greatness. They want you to do the right thing. There may be times where you’d rather not, and in those times that’s where great friends work their magic.

  • Real Friends Give You Emotional Support.

Friends are going to be there for you. They typically spend a great deal of time talking to you or spending time. In that time, they get to know you. They learn your behavior when you’re feeling great and notice your behavior when you’re feeling off. Real friends have your best interest so they’re going to want to be there. Let them. Friends can truly pull you out of a dark place. They know what makes you happy can will do practically anything to keep you there.

  • Real Friends Help Build Your Confidence.

Now a days we call building up one another “gassing”. A true friend will do just that. Whether you’re starting a new venture or ending an old one, your friend will be there every step of the way to keep you secure.

  • Real Friends Help You Beat Stress.

Having an extra mind to reflect of different situations can go a long way. Many times when we experience stress, our friends can see the way out. They want you well so they give good perspective. Friends are there for each other. They try to lighten the load of stress.

  • Real Friends Push You To Be Your Best.

Real friends who know you want you to be your best. They oftentimes know when you’re pushing yourself to the limit and see the greatness inside of you. Friends who care truly want the best for you. They want to see you win.

While friendships can be work, they really are designed to work for you. Of course you can’t trust everybody, but to move alone in isolation, that is very unhealthy. Get you some friends that care and make it work! Build with love and care. Keep them close. After all we weren’t created to be alone.
