As school is about to end I was really thinking about what I got out of my experience from Art and Ceramics. One thing I have learned from Art is that it can be whatever you want and that we all have creative minds. My teacher would always mention that when we’re younger we don’t think so much about trying to perfect it but enjoying the process and having fun making art.
My first time having art class I was excited because I was open to learning new things. When I was younger I would always wonder how people would make their drawings so professional and learned that all they did was practice and practice till they progressed and got better over time. Art has taught me that life is a process whether it be something you want,a goal you want to reach,or anything else you want and that things aren’t going to be that easy.
Most of the time people will think and see people accomplishing things that they want in life and will say that looks easy. The truth is nothing in life is really easy unless it comes natural to you. Those people who got what they wanted worked hard for it and that even though things may look easy they may not be as easy as they seem. The number one thing I’ve learned for myself for reaching goals was that you need motivation, a routine, and self determination and discipline. It can also be hard to be motivated if you are going through tough or troubled times.
In art we learned to draw a human face,an egg with a shadow in the background,and a lot of other things. One the first day of art class he let us draw anything in the room and wanted to see our progression and what we were capable of. When you really look at what you did in the beginning versus later you really see progress. I realized that I learned and got better at things at a different pace than others but realized that’s okay we are all different and would try to compare myself to others.
Besides the actual class I learned that I am capable and any of you guys reading this are capable. It just requires hard work and determination.
