The University of Cincinnati honored representatives of Damar Hamlin’s care team from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center on Sunday, Jan. 22. The team, which included both on-field responders and hospital-based providers, was recognized during a halftime celebration at the men’s basketball game versus the University of Memphis for the 24/7 lifesaving care they provide the Greater Cincinnati community.

Hamlin collapsed on the Paycor Stadium here during the recent Bills/Bengals game after his heart stopped. UC on-field responders helped revive Hamlin and then a team of doctors and staff helped him in his week-long recovery at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

“At UC Health, our talented teams are honored to be national and local leaders in advancing multidisciplinary health care,” said Rob Wiehe, EVP/COO, UC Health & Chief Administrative Officer, University of Cincinnati Medical Center. “Through the efficient and coordinated evaluations of the complex care specialists who are a part of our academic health system, we are very proud to offer lifesaving, advanced medical care when members of our community are in need.”
