Spring Home Décor

Welcoming a season is done by adding a few new or used pieces to your home. Updating your home every season gives you a chance to reset and refresh. It also brings in a new atmosphere and keeps you current and joyful.

I buy a few new items every season and if I get too many things, I donate them to the Salvation Army. You don’t have to break the bank to do this and although Ross is one of my favorites, I also love the Dollar Tree home décor selections, especially the yard and door signs and their seasonal serving items.

To help you find a few pieces for your home here are a few tips on what to add and how to do so.

Colors: I add pastels in the spring like yellow, pink, and green. I like to think about the cool wind and fresh air in the spring and these colors are that and Light blue is also a great color for spring.

Themes: when I think of spring, I like to buy items that have a pattern of flowers, bees, butterflies. This gives me a childlike feeling and one of nostalgia.

Statements and quotes: I also like to add a few items with the sayings of the season like, happy spring and hello sunshine. These items can be a keepsake and you can use them year after year.

Fresh scents: in the spring look for candles and house sprays in scents like citrus, flowers, and clean scents such as linen. These scents will get you in the spring mood and add another layer of beauty to your home.

Kitchen items: I add items like new hand towels, pot handlers, mugs and glasses. Since I use these items daily, they are worn out from the old season, but I only buy 1 or 2 of them. You can also update your curtains and rugs.

Livingroom: change the couch pillows to bright colors, new spring rugs and add a few candles and a piece of art.

Bedroom: buy new sheets, pillows and rugs. You can never have too many bed coverings and each season makes this easier because they have so many patterns and these items tend to last longer if you switch them out regularly.

Bathroom: replenish the candles, rugs, and spring scented hand soap. You can also change the bath soaps, scrubs, and lotions to spring colors, and choose scents like cucumber or lemon.

Table runners: these are a cheap way to transform any table, it can be further transformed by topping it with a vase, flowers or just a candle.

I recently went on my spring décor shopping trip to Ross, see video attached to get some cool ideas! Enjoy your new home upgrade!

Happy Spring!
