Built in 1930, the former jewel of the city has received its well-deserved and long overdue polishing with the completion of a 2.6 million dollar seating restoration after several decades of neglect.

Guests are invited to participate in a postgame afterglow on the field from 4:15-6:00 pm, and are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, food and refreshments. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

The event will feature presentations from Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, Hamtramck state, county and local officials, representatives from Detroit Tigers, soprano soloist Nicole Joseph of the Detroit Opera Theatre, and Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield who will present the Spirit of Detroit Award to Coach Ron Teasley Sr. Platinum music producer and DJ Nick Speed will provide music for the festivities.
