October Activities with the Kids

Burr! It’s cold out here. But the good thing is cold weather doesn’t stop the fun. Doing fun activities with the kids in the fall is still a real thing.

Remember when you were were little and you use to go to the pumpkin farm? Remember raking the leaves and jumping into them afterwards? What about taking leaves and coloring their print onto a piece of paper.

Still clueless? Here’s a list of fun fall activities:

  • Visit an apple orchard.
  • Build a scarecrow stuffed with newspaper.
  • Make a classic apple crisp.
  • Have an apple cider “tea” party.
  • Bake apple chips.
  • Set up a fire pit.
  • Make s’mores outside.
  • Make super-easy crafts — using only three supplies or less.
  • Paint wooden crafts.
  • Make vision boards.
  • Make handprint leaves.
  • Coordinate family Halloween costumes.
  • Attend a local football game.
  • Dress each other up as toilet paper mummies.
  • Host a make-your-own-pizza party.
  • Make caramel apples (and add sprinkles!)
  • Make some hot chocolate.
  • Plan for Christmas.

Many of these activities are free or very inexpensive. So take those babies out. Let the learn and adventure. Teach them how to have fun while growing up.

Build that bond with your kid you wish you once had. Find a happy place that kid friendly. Have fun with it.
