Norman Preston, former successful electrical contractor and resident of Cincinnati, passed away in Wake Forest, NC on 26 April, 2023, at age 100. He was born May 11, 1922,
He was a WWII veteran of the US Marine Corps.
While in Cincinnati, he was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church with his (late) first wife Mary Elizabeth Stewart and their children: Norma Jean, Christeen, Harold, Bernita and Ann Renee.
Following a 1974 divorce, he eventually moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina, where he restored his relationship with fellow Black Marine veterans as a member of their organization, Montford Point Marine Association, established at Camp LeJeune Marine Base, Jacksonville, NC.
His second wife, Viola Preston, preceded him in death, and he later married his third wife, Lillie (Boney) Preston.
He is survived by his wife Lillie, and four children born of his first wife: Dr. Christeen Allen of Fort Washington, MD, Harold Blake Preston of Cincinnati, OH, Bernita Gissler of Lommiswil, Switzerland, and Ann Renee Mobley of Wake Forest, North Carolina.
His interment will be conducted at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery on May 12, 2023, with Military Honors. The services can be seen via live stream at Nixon Lewis Funeral Home, Burgaw, NC website on May 12.
