Neighborcare Health Welcomes Rashad Collins As New CEO
Rashad A. Collins

Rashad A. Collins joined Neighborcare Health in July as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Rashad comes to Neighborcare Health after serving as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at Charter Oak Health Center in Hartford, CT and Chief Program Officer at the Community Health Center Association of Connecticut. He has also been deeply involved with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and served as Board Chair of Caring Health Center Inc. in Springfield, MA.

“In addition to Rashad’s in-depth operational experience,” said Neighborcare Health Board of Directors Chair Barbara Shickich, “we are inspired by his history of establishing long-term partnerships with community and health care leaders and his people-focused approach to coaching and mentoring teams.”

Rashad’s commitment to community health centers is rooted in a desire to serve others and in the belief that everyone deserves quality health care. These qualities are critical to support Neighborcare’s mission and values and its dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) that moves the organization toward its ultimate goal of 100% access and zero health disparities for the communities it serves.

“Diversity, equity and inclusion efforts are extremely important to me not only as words or concepts, but in action,” Rashad shared. “We are all unique in our own way with much to offer if given the opportunity. EDI allows us to bring different skills, qualities and ideas to our work and personal lives, which, in turn, helps us grow and prosper.”

For 54 years, Neighborcare Health’s mission has been to provide comprehensive health care to families and individuals who have difficulty accessing care, including low-income, uninsured, underinsured patients, and those experiencing homelessness; respond with sensitivity to the needs of its culturally diverse patients; and advocate and work with others to improve the overall health status of the communities they serve. Neighborcare offers medical, dental, behavioral health, social work, pregnancy care, health education, nutrition services, and more in 30-plus medical, dental and school-based health clinics mostly in Seattle and in Olympia and on Vashon Island. All are welcome and no one is turned away due to inability to pay.
