Motivated Mondays: Practice Humility

Humility is such a major word to reflect on often. Its soft demeanor speaks so much value when expressed. Being humble means to have or show a modest or low estimate of one’s own importance. In other words, it’s getting YOU out the way, for something greater. It’s lowing your ego and high thoughts of yourself.

It’s so easy to come across people have feel like because they “have more” or “make more “ or “do more” than others that they are superior. This is in fact arrogance, the opposite of humility. It’s easy to spot this type of behavior in a work setting maybe with a supervisor or a seasoned coworker. Sometimes people like this operate out of ego while in these positions. They lead with nasty attitudes to prove points.

There’s nothing like a humble person. Not the kind of “humble” that walks around screaming “I’m humble”. No, I’m talking about the humble that leads with care and respect. A fair person that sees themself no higher than the next but certainly will still play their part. This person is not a doormat. This person chooses kindness and gentleness. The humble get so far rather than those that stop to puff up their own chest.

Which one are you? Do you live your life with humility? Are you considerate of others or do you put you first at all times. Do you brag on yourself always or are you a listener?

Practicing humility has many benefits:

  • It Allows You To Learn.
  • It Proves You Don’t Know It All.
  • It Creates Endless Possibilities.

  • Be grateful for what you have.
  • Ask for help when you need it.
  • Seek feedback from others on a regular basis.
  • Review your actions against the language of pride.

Try it. You’ll see just how great it is for your self.
