Mae Smitheman-Smith named one of top women of finance

Mae Smitherman-Smith has been recognized by the Women of Color STEM Awards as one of the Top Women in Finance, according to a release by Ford Motor Company.

She joined Ford as a finance intern working on her MBA at The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business. Since then, she has worked in nine organizations at Ford and is now the controller for Global Manufacturing, MP&L, and Warranty.

She is not just focused on dollars and decimal points. She has also been a dedicated recruiter throughout her career, as well as the executive champion for the Ford African-Ancestry Finance Network.

Mae Smitherman-Smith is the daughter of Barbara Smitherman and the late Dr. Herbert C. Smitherman.  She graduated from Walnut Hills in 1986 and The Ohio State University in 1990 with a BSBA Marketing and 1995 with MBA in Finance and Human Resources. She is married to David Andrew Smith Sr. and they have three children.
