KANSAS CITY, MO — Kansas City residents are eagerly awaiting the upcoming 2nd Annual Black Futures event, presented by The Black Pantry and KC Black Owned, and powered by United Way of Greater Kansas City. The event, set to take place on Saturday, February 25th at the Firestone Building, promises to be a night of networking and community-building amongst the Black community — and will shape the future of the Black Kansas City landscape.
The Black Futures event is a celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit of Black Kansas City, featuring a mass collective of 30 local Black-owned vendors and community partners. Attendees can expect live music from renown hip hop artist The Royal Chief, as well as eclectic tunes from DJ Q, and delicious food and drinks. The VIP Networking segment will be held from 4 pm to 6 pm, with heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails served. The general attendance portion of the event lasts until 9pm.
The event’s highlight will be the Waymakers Table, which features a panel discussion with distinguished guests from various fields, including business, entertainment, and civic engagement. The panel will offer their insights into creating a better future for Black communities and share their experiences in their respective fields.
A portion of the sales will go to United Way of Greater Kansas City, a nonprofit organization that provides support to BIPOC organizations across the city. Attendees can also donate directly to the United Way of Greater Kansas City by visiting their website.
The Black Futures event is a unique opportunity for the community to come together and create positive change in Kansas City. Tickets for the event can be purchased online for $15 or $20 at the door. Those looking for a VIP experience can purchase a $50 ticket, which includes cocktail, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and entry.
