In a bid to strengthen business ownership in the International Marketplace, in November 2019 we made the decision to purchase the strip mall at 4283 Lafayette RD. The goal was to establish a permanent location for the Global Village Welcome Center and give small businesses that were part of the strip a chance to own their own space.

Having encountered various operational, legal and strategic obstacles in executing the vision, those plans have not gone as anticipated. Our Mission however is still in place. We are focusing our efforts, as we have done effectively over the years on programmatic work and community development to ensure the wellness of our community. Soho Capital a real estate developer is now the new owner of the property.

Moving forward we would continue what we do best by attracting partners and investors to the International Marketplace area. In addition, we will be enhancing our programmatic work to serve the members of this community and the broader city and state of Indiana.

We are excited about the different initiatives we have been working on and look forward to sharing more announcements shortly.

The Global Village Welcome will still be located at the 4283 Lafayette Rd location as it continues to serve as a home for the diverse communities in the area.
