It happened on August 31 to a sold out crowd, between 3-7 p.m. Cove 51 Nightclub.  The Soul Classic Day Party extended beyond the usual social occasion.  Three legendary DJ’s captured a rare moment in time as they displayed their skills and talent on one accord.

The brainchild of the day party was Cincinnati’s iconic Lincoln Ware. Lincoln said, “I handpicked ‘TC’ Tyrone Cannon, and ‘Baby Rome,’ Bruce Phillips  because they know the music. I knew a mature audience would love it.  And the biggest draw was the sun was still shining when the party was over.

Baby Rome mesmerized the crowd with his showmanship.  His voice echoed throughout the club, “Who remembers the Black Beer Lot?”  taking them on a merry-go-round of classic melodies and familiar places that touched the heart, causing one to reminisce about a special place called Home.

Smooth TC moved in like a summer breeze transforming a mob of spectators into a time machine playing music of the 60’s and 70’s representing love, peace, unity and brotherhood.

It was the greatest time to be Black in America, as me and my wife, Brenda, strolled out of the club.  I heard people demanding, “They got to do it again!”
