Evva Friason Turpeau passed away on Friday, Aug. 18, 2022, just one day following her 85th birthday. She was the wife of her late husband and high school sweetheart, DeWolfe Rossman Turpeau Jr., who she married in 1992.

Mrs. Turpeau devoted her life to a career in elementary education serving as a K-2 grade teacher, assistant principal and principal, and leading teachers, principals and administrators in the Cincinnati Public School System as an area director. 

She is survived by her sister, Carmelita Friason Goodwin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Aaron and Brenda Turpeau; twin daughters Evita Louise Sherman and Evetta Louise Sherman; daughters Debra Turpeau, Tanya (Jay) Boileau, Connie Turpeau; and son, Dr. Rossman (Chiante) Turpeau III.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence H. and Emily Louise Friason; her three half-brothers, Larry Guy and Vernon Friason; half-sister, Jean Friason; and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1809 Rutland Avenue, Cincinnati, 45207. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. and the  service at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Women’s Alliance Inc., a nonprofit organization devoted to making a difference in the Cincinnati area, of which Mrs. Turpeau was a founding member 50 years ago and helped shape the lives of students in the community through scholarship programs.
