Dr. Eugene Pruitt to Receive Lifetime Award for Healthcare Advancement

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin  – Lead Generation is a pilot project designed to dramatically improve the ACT scores of students in this community and introduce them to a variety of careers in financial services and healthcare. The project is a collaboration of nationally acclaimed t.Lab accelerated learning program, together with local partners Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), ALIVE, Inc., and Cardinal Stritch University. The t.Lab model has demonstrated exceptionally robust performance metrics and bringing access and implementation to Milwaukee promises an outstanding opportunity to help students.

On August 4, 2022, the Lead Generation summer session will celebrate the achievements of students from Milwaukee. In the spirit of recognition, Lead Generation will salute the remarkable achievements of one of Milwaukee’s most prominent physicians, Dr. Eugene Pruitt. Dr. Pruitt is well-known for his compassionate care and engagement with community healthcare throughout Milwaukee. Not only is the Harvard University, Howard University Medical College and University of Washington Internal Medicine Residency trained physician an incredible clinician, he’s dedicated his life to giving back through community service and social action initiatives like the local Boule.

“There is no better role model for our students than Dr. Pruitt,” remarked John W. Daniels, III, Executive Director of Alive, Inc. “His rare ability to bring the finest medical resources to Milwaukee and provide essential healthcare support has distinguished him in this community. We are delighted to announce Lead Generation’s most outstanding student in the summer healthcare program will be given in the name of Dr. Eugene Pruitt.”

Since 1993, Dr. Pruitt has served nobly in faculty appointments as an Associate Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin and an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin Medical School’s Mount Sinai campus. He was a Medical Director at Plymouth Manor Nursing Home and Milwaukee County’s

General Assistance Medical Program (GAMP). Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Pruitt’s many awards and commendations include the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Martin Luther King, Junior Humanitarian Award, national listing as one the Best Doctors in America, the Milwaukee Community Journal’s Beacons of Light, Milwaukee Time’s Black Excellence Awards Excellence in Medicine, and Community Youth Development’s Doctor of the Year. Dr. Pruitt is a co-founder and original Board Member of PrimeCare Health Plan of Wisconsin, served as President of the Cream City Medical Society, and participated in the Obama Transition Team Community Discussion on Healthcare Reform.

It is widely acknowledged that healthcare is among the most important growth industries in the country. Lead Generation students are introduced to vocational opportunities in the academic, clinical, business, and administrative sides of the industry. By engaging students in actual presentations by healthcare professionals who delve into the expanse and variety of career options, a developmental perspective and professional plan are stimulated. The project seeks to motivate students in academic achievement through facilitating a real-life connection and bridge to career success.

“The primary hurdles and roadblocks to realizing academic competence and mastery are discipline, parental involvement, and a rigorous and relevant curriculum based on market forces,” noted t.Lab Founder and CEO, Dr. Clarence Nixon. “Thus a holistic engagement model addressing the behavior modification, cultural, and applicable relevance aspects of our academic acceleration plan must effectively and swiftly address and overcome these dynamics. The t.Lab model has effectively accomplished those objectives since inception and we eagerly look forward to expanding opportunities for student growth and enrichment in Milwaukee.”
