Just like a fine wine – Detroit continues to get better with time.
The city has seen several new developments just since the end of the pandemic and the growth has yet to cease with no signs of slowing down any time soon.
This September a new hotel on Michigan Avenue plans to open its doors and help populate the Corktown area with hundreds of new jobs.
The hotel brings in a new 5500 sq. ft. ballroom, holds 227 guest rooms, with a lavish lobby and rooftop bar.
The Godfrey Hotel has popular locations such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston promising a top tier experience. Now as they set up shop here in Detroit, the goal is to generate an economic impact for the Corktown neighborhood bringing an estimated 200-300 new jobs to the location.
Preparing for the future uptick in traffic for Corktown – across the street, the bar Lager House is planning to expand its hours and re-open a larger space to accommodate visitors.
The new space also adds to an already strong amount of momentum with the PAL ballpark and Michigan Central station being remodeled. In addition to that, new housing and restaurants are continuing to add to the bustling ‘new’ Detroit.
The Godfrey also represents the potential for more places to stay, as Detroit looks to host more large-scale events.
