Team Chatham celebrated the veterans that work and live in the county on November 10th, 2022 at Priscilla D. Thomas Annex – Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum at 2pm.
The event was put together by the Chatham County Human Resources department and led by The Honorable Lisa G. Colbert, Judge for Chatham County Superior Court.
There were several guest speakers including Chatham County District 6 Commissioner Aaron “Adot” Whitely, Chief Jeffrey Hadley of the County Police Department, and Sheriff John T. Wilcher from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.
Father Patrick O’Brien lead the event in prayer and the Presentation of Colors by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.
Invited to the Veteran’s
Day celebration were guest performers from Fort Stewart 3rd Infantry Division Band and Barbershop Harmony Society.
The event acknowledged all of the veterans who currently work for the county as community representatives, police officers, and many more positions. The veterans at the event were recognized by the Fort Stewart 3rd Infantry Division Band as they stood for their service song.
Chatham County District 3 Commissioner Bobby Lockett and District 5 Commissioner Tanya Milton were also in attendance.
The event was live-streamed on Chatham County Facebook, YouTube, and Channel 16.
