Jon Batiste, a celebrated artist from Louisiana, took home two Grammys. He won Best Song Written for Visual Media for “It Never Went Away”, featured in American Symphony, and also earned Best Music Film for the same project.
Tank and the Bangas, another Louisiana-based act, clinched the award for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album with The Heart, The Mind, The Soul, further showcasing the state’s deep musical roots.
