For 11 years The American Heritage Girls Troop NC 0608 has helped the Shepherd’s Center pack gift bags for our Saturday Night Fellowship holiday project. One of the girls, Stella Jamison, was five years old when she first had the opportunity to help with the gift bag project. She is now 13 and is in the 8th grade at Forbush Middle School and helps with this project every year.

These bags contain donated gift items and are distributed annually to over 100 older adults who attend monthly Saturday night gatherings hosted by local faith communities.

“It means a lot to me to be involved in this project,” said Stella. “I love to organize the bags and I just like helping people.”

Stella hopes to attend college and study nursing. She also hopes to pursue her passion for horseback riding.

We look forward to this year’s holiday gift bag project. The American Heritage Girls packed bags on Nov. 28 at Highland Presbyterian Church. Gifts will be distributed at the Dec. 2 Saturday Night Fellowship at Highland.
