Gainesville police investigators are at Spyglass Apartments, 701 SW 62nd Blvd., looking into an early morning crash that injured a pedestrian.

Police spokesman Ben Tobias wrote in an email that just before 5 a.m., a car inside the complex hit a pedestrian near the swimming pool area and dragged her for roughly 40 yards before the car was stopped by the exit gate. Witnesses lifted the car off the victim, who was then pulled out, he wrote.

The woman was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital with serious injuries. Investigators are conducting a DUI investigation, but no arrests have been made.

The victim was in stable condition, he wrote.

The car, a newer Chrysler Sebring, was being moved mid-morning, with blood still on its rear tire.
