A long-standing brand in American fashion, known for its iconic red, white and blue rectangular logo, will open a store right off Interstate 75 in Gainesville.

Representatives of Celebration Pointe, one of Gainesville’s newest major retail developments, announced Tuesday morning that a Tommy Hilfiger store will be an anchor tenant.

Ralph Conti, a Celebration Pointe development partner, said in a news release that Tommy Hilfiger is a global brand, making it a perfect fit for Celebration Pointe.

It’s unclear when exactly the Tommy Hilfiger store will open its doors, but it's expected to be sometime after April.

Celebration Pointe announced in January a Nike Factory Store would open in the retail development giant. The build out for the Nike store is underway, with an expected spring opening.

Gainesville’s third Regal theater appears to be the next tenant scheduled to open its doors in Celebration Pointe. It's expected to open in late April.

The Regal Entertainment Group 51,588-square-foot theater will feature 10 screens with RPX technology, king-size recliners with padded footrests and a lobby complete with a full bar and lounge.

In November 2016, Bass Pro was the first opening in the 160-acre Celebration Pointe development, which is planned to have more than 1 million square feet of mixed-use development, including retail, restaurant, entertainment, office, hotel, townhome and apartment space. It is accessible from Southwest 45th Street off of Archer Road and the new overpass over Interstate 75 connecting to Butler North.

Another tenant, Hotel Indigo, a six-story, 140-room, 92,000-square-foot hotel, is being built in Tech Park at Celebration Pointe, adjacent to office space for Gainesville software company Info Tech. The hotel is expected to open in late summer.

Other announced Celebration Pointe retailers and restaurants, according to the development’s website, include spas like The Nail Spa and Azulene Day Spa; retailer Uniform Destination, which sells scrubs and other medical uniforms; and eateries like Rascal Flatts Bar and Grill, Reggae Shack Cafe, Liquid Ginger, Miller’s Ale House, Kilwins Quality Confections and MidiCi, the Neapolitan Pizza Company. None of these retailers or restaurants have confirmed open dates.

Tommy Hilfiger, founded in 1985, has made its name as an American lifestyle brand. It operates nearly 1,900 stores in 100 countries.
