A 65-year-old Citra man was the person who died after being hit by two cars Saturday night.

Vandall A. Griffin was standing on the roadway on U.S. 301 near its intersection with Southeast 203rd Street, the Florida Highway Patrol reported in a news release.

The drivers of the two cars involved were not injured in the 8:43 p.m. crash between Citra and Lochloosa, the report said.

Troopers said James Ingram, 56, of Palm City, was driving a 2013 GMC Acadia SUV northbound on U.S. 301 while Brian Capprotti, 31, of Orange Park, was driving a 2014 Chrysler Town Car along the same route when both vehicles struck Griffin.

Both vehicles stopped immediately after hitting the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.
