O’Dea’s Paolo Banchero scored a game-high 25 points, as the Fighting Irish advanced to the SeaKing District 3A tournament championship game with a 64-60 win over the Garfield Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs, who put forth a tremendous effort on both sides of the court, held a 1-point lead, 26-25, at halftime, but O’Dea started off the third quarter on a 9-2 run that seemed to be the difference in the game.
With the win, O’Dea advances to the SeaKing District Finals to face Eastside Catholic, who defeated Rainier Beach 64-44 in the other SeaKing District semi-final game, while Garfield will face Rainier Beach in the 3rdand 4thplace game. All four teams will move on to the State tournament.
Garfield was led by Tari Eason, who scored 20 points in the contest.
